A garota da Agulha inscreve uma abordagem estético-política do que seria a associação da mulher com a velhice – sua história de violências e a tentativa de maternar sozinha - que de certa maneira lança luz à conformação do imaginário da bruxa velha-má que come e mata bebês, a partir da uma relação estreita com a miséria da mulher na Europa durante a após a Primeira Guerra: a brutalidade da diferença de classes como diferença também de gênero; a violência moral do subemprego feminino; a gravidez como custo sexual e social que recai apenas sobre as mulheres; a impossibilidade de qualquer contracepção, e, principalmente, do aborto; os custos da maternidade que vem e daquela que já está em processo; e a revolta contra a coibição da mãe solteira/solo. Enfim, o filme contextualiza a ação da bruxa a partir de uma cifra histórica-política de miséria, opressão e punição das mulheres. *********************** The girl with the neddle inscribes an aesthetic-political approach to what would be the association of women with old age – their history of violence and the attempt to mother alone – which in a certain way sheds light on the formation of the imaginary of the evil old witch who eats and kills babies, based on a close relationship with the misery of women in Europe during the post-World War I period: the brutality of class differences as well as gender differences; the moral violence of female underemployment; pregnancy as a sexual and social cost that falls only on women; the impossibility of any contraception, and especially abortion; the costs of upcoming motherhood and that which is already in process; and the revolt against the prohibition of single mothers. Ultimately, the film contextualizes the witch's actions based on a historical-political figure of misery, oppression and punishment of women.
